Just like everything else, the world has a funny way of over watering or under justifying the fact that we are all floating on a massive rock in space. Somehow, made perfectly in the uterus of your mother, you blossomed. Something that takes just 9 months yet all the cells in your body are perfectly meant to hold not only the human blueprint of the mind and body, but the human spirit. The human body is simply a means to interact on earth. We take it for granted, along with the unknowing responsibility that we have to take care of it, and make sure it is maintained properly. At the end of the day, if you were ever to look at the core to see how everything functions, you would realize that it comes from your spine
(aka your nervous system). The nervous system is the answer for pain, pleasure, working out, and even tasting something. Your sensory and motor skills all come from the nervous system, yet we are never told to regulate our system or even how to do that. Taking 10 deep breaths takes the mind out of stuck patterns and into new ones. The body keeps the score. So, the best way to start to understand your body is to listen to the pain, and understand that there is a lesson of growth in that experience.
**If you do not see a lesson, you are currently a victim to your reality.**
Conscious breathing, touch and movement all stimulate the brain to gather new functions and new adaptations. If we have suppressed an emotion at some point in time, the body will store that until the person is ready to “deal” or “heal” that emotion when it is the right time. We think that we heal and we are done; but the thing is, just like an onion peel, there are layers to healing. Understanding these layers challenges us to deepen the knowledge of ourselves. Chiropractic is much more than simply cracking bones. It facilitates the connection to life. This is because the nervous system is what is telling you there is even a life to live, and your brain-body connection is, like a watering hose, filtering that information. It does not matter; infant to adult, if that channel is open, you are more prone to adapting and growing in comparison to being stuck in a stagnant pattern doing the same thing every day with the same thoughts. The best part about all of this is that the choice is yours to address or "deal" with the uncomfortable or keep ignoring the signs, and remain stagnant. Listening to your body is a place to start, and getting adjusted by a chiropractor who connects with your beliefs, principles and values is the next step.
